New Appointment
Collegiate AC Ltd, one of the UK’s leading providers of contemporary Purpose Built Student Accommodation (PBSA), has appointed Alan Blackmore as its Chief Operating Officer. Alan will have overall responsibility for leading the day-to-day operations of the company.
Collegiate AC became a wholly owned subsidiary of Arlington Advisors Limited (Arlington) last month, which represents the shareholders of a portfolio comprising 13,635 student beds in the UK.
Alan Blackmore
Alan brings more than 25 years of experience in leading teams across student accommodation and retail environments to deliver operational excellence. Prior to becoming Chief Operating Officer, he held numerous senior positions across Collegiate AC where he developed a strong understanding of the organisation and its processes. Before joining Collegiate AC, Alan worked at Unite Students for seven years.
Collegiate AC, who celebrates its 10th anniversary next year, is an effective and proven operator in developing and managing student accommodation. The business manages and operates several student accommodation brands in the UK, including Collegiate, Universe.City, Prima Vidae and The Neighbourhood, providing a range of accommodation to meet the different needs of students. In total, Collegiate AC is responsible for around 3,550 student beds over 16 properties in 13 cities across the UK.

In 2019, the business was awarded the ‘Operator of the Year’ accolade at the Class of 2020 Awards in Berlin for overseeing over 500 student accommodation projects so far, pioneering many industry practices in terms of design, systems and operations and for the high quality of both the accommodation and services offered by the company. More than 80% of Collegiate residents rated their accommodation as Good or Very Good for the fourth year in a row.
